I am captivated by both the process and creations from my sculpting. Many skills are a carry over from my background as a dentist. To sustain energy and growth in my sculpture, a new aspect of sculpture is chosen each year.
Accomplishments: 2008 Quebec, Canada – invited to carve the ExpoCite's history of Quebec 2007-8 Tournament of Champions carve in Harrison Hot Springs, BC, Canada Carved 2005 Blankenberg Belgium – invited to carve large public venue 19 years of sand sculpture as a team captain in Pacific NW contests 1999 Solo Champion at the World Championships in Harrison Hot Springs, BC, Canada Placed and Peoples choice several other years 1990, 1992 & 2001 Captain and or co-captain of 3 winning teams at the World Championships in Harrison Hot Springs, BC, Canada Part-time with the company Sandscapes over 7 years Designer and lead carver in several professional sculptures each year in our Region, including the 2006 Flower and Garden Show Assisted in many demo and advertisement sculptures: Chamber of Commerce of several cities, Kellogs Cereal, Kids on the Block, car dealers Taught sand sculpture classes for several years for University of Washington, several of the beach contests and privately Background: 4 years of clay and bronze sculpture of human figures Outside of sculpture, I run my own clinic of dentistry Attributes: Creates and improvises well within a group or work independently, as needed. Versatile carving skills in both figure and linear sculpture. Detail and finishing are strong points. Great people skills and enthusiasm for sand sandsculpture.
